Work, career, profession- three different words for one important mission

Work, career, profession- three different words for one important mission in every individual's life and that is to earn a living. Perhaps, this may be the reason that each morning most people get just to think "I wish were a Sunday."

I have seen most people getting up in the morning early, putting on their clothes, having breakfast, carrying their brief cases & unwilling driving to their most abhorring destination- "office". You must have many times felt that if you could just drive back home and relax for the day.

However, this is not practical as one needs to work to make both ends meet, to live a luxurious life, utilize the education availed and to answer the clichéd line- "What do you do?"

Going to office may be the most detestable routine for a person, but ask him to visit a concert, play cricket, go swimming, or spend the whole day making caricatures and there this person would go bonkers about the idea.

Could you differentiate the thin line between the two tasks-aka-going to office & doing something one really loves? Passion is one word that gets one glued to what he/she is currently involved in.

Let us take it the other way round. How would you like to best answer the question- "What do you do?" Contemporary answer would include the job profile and the company you are working in.

It is not hard to track down these people as you can easily identify them with the way they take more from life each day. Try to meet them & ask what they do and be prepared for a detailed description of something far removed from their jobs.

Their answer would offer you the energy to set you go trekking or playing badminton with them the next weekend. However, it may not be possible or even practical for most people to pursue passion as their career, but they still keep it ignited to lead a happy and contented life.

Speak to Saif Ali khan, the famous Bollywood actor and he loves quoting- "Over time, I think I've just matured as a guitarist as my passion has only got the better of me.
